May 18, 2011 ARTWORK FOR ULRICH DRECHSLER BY VOLKMAR WEISS
Volkmar Weiss has designed the beautiful artwork of my current album Concinnity and will also make the graphic art for the next album "Beyond Words". Now he has launched his own website Volkmar Weiss . It's a fantastic homepage. Take a look at it, it's more than worth. May 20th 2011 will be the german opening day of the movie "Todespolka", austrian thriller directed by Michael Pfeifenberger and set to music by Ulrich Drechsler. The premiere will take place in Berlin before the movie will start in 200 cinemas all over Germany.After receiving already a lot of raving reviews the movie now has been awarded with a bronze palm at the prestigious Mexico International Film Festival in the "feature film" competition.

Apr 20, 2011 WORKING ON "BEYOND WORDS"

Between march 04th and 07th the trio recorded the music for "Beyond Words" at the fantastic FWL studios in Leipzig/Germany. For the new program Ulrich has written a lot of new original compositions.
One of the highlights of the recording sessions was the visit of israeli singer Efrat Alony from Berlin. The interplay between Ulrich's warm bass clarinet sound and Efrat's dark and soulful voice sounds as it has been cultivated for years. You will hear the outcome on the album.
It is also planned that the trio will perform with Efrat next year. Tour will start in march 2012.
